Tracked Competitors and Viral Radar in your account
Add Instagram and TikTok handles to Tracked Competitors, read growth and indexed reels, rescan inside your daily Viral Radar budget, and open one account.
What Viral Radar is
Viral Radar is the sidebar section with two pages: Viral Accounts (the Tracked Competitors page) and Viral Reels (Reel Analytics). This article covers accounts. Reel analytics and copied reels covers reels.
Tracking an account does three things, and the page lists all three. It pulls the account’s last 50 reels and indexes every hook, format and hashtag. It rescans on a schedule and tracks 7-day velocity and follower growth. And it surfaces the reels that are climbing, so you can copy the pattern.
Tracking needs Creator or higher. On Starter the page opens on an upgrade prompt.
For what to do with the accounts once they are in, read the guide on tracking competitor reels.
Track a new account
- Open Viral Accounts and click + Track New Account. On an empty page, type into the field and click Track.
- Pick Instagram or TikTok.
- Type the username or paste the profile URL and confirm. A handle uses letters, numbers, dots or underscores, up to 40 characters; anything else is refused before it is sent.
The first scan runs in the background. The account appears with “Last scan” filling in as the reels index. An account that stops posting is scanned less often (every 3 days after a week without a post, weekly after two weeks, monthly after a month) and the row tells you so with a “Quiet · checked weekly” marker in the Last scan column, worded for that account’s schedule. The next scan that finds a new reel puts it straight back on the fast schedule.
Your Viral Radar limit
One number governs both how many accounts you can track and how many scans you can run per day, whichever runs out first:
| Plan | Accounts and daily scans |
|---|---|
| Starter | Not included |
| Creator | 10 |
| Influencer | 100 |
The Rescan button shows the day’s remaining scans as a counter such as “10/10”, with “N of 10 scans left today” on hover. When it reads 0, the tooltip says “No scans left today, resets tomorrow.”
Before you track your first account, the empty page reads “Track up to 50 Instagram or TikTok accounts in your niche.” That line describes the feature, not your own allowance. The number that applies to you is the one in the table above. When you reach it, the app says so with your own numbers in it: “You’re tracking 10 of 10 Viral Radar accounts. Upgrade to add more.”
Read the page
The header tabs split the list: All, My Follows (accounts you added), ✦ Verified (AI influencer accounts we curate and refresh ourselves, read-only for you), Real (real human creators we track for everyone), ☆ Favorites (accounts you starred) and ✧ Discovered (see below). Below, a search box, a Category filter, Save as default for your filter setup, and a sort control. Every account you track is given a category automatically on its first scan, and an account we cannot place shows as Other until a later scan reads it better. You can change any category yourself on your own accounts, and your choice stays.
A real human creator carries a small grey Real label where a Verified account carries the gold ✦ star. Both kinds are tracked for you, refreshed on our own schedule and read-only, and the label is the difference: ✦ Verified means the account is an AI influencer our team curates, and Real means a real person. Hover the label to read the same thing on the page.
Your Home page’s Trending right now strip shows reels from every account we track, AI and real, plus the accounts you added yourself. A card from a real creator carries the same Real label, so you always know whose format you are about to copy.
▦ Table is the default view on a laptop, with sortable columns for 7-Day Growth, Followers, Reels Indexed and Last Scan. ▤ Cards shows the same accounts as tiles; phones always use cards. Each tile shows the handle, bio, Followers, Reels indexed, 7-day growth, and View reels →.
✧ Discovered: creators you copied
Copy a reel from a creator you do not already track and we keep that creator for you, on the ✧ Discovered tab. There is nothing to set up. Paste a link into Copy From Reel or into the Recreate a reel box at the top of the video wizard, and the account appears here.
Each row shows the creator’s picture, category and follower count, the date we first saw them, their last scan, and Your Reels: how many of that creator’s reels are in your own reel library. The reel you just copied is one of them, so a creator you have copied once reads 1.
The tab is yours, not a shared list. You see the creators your own copies surfaced and nobody else’s.
Discovered accounts do not sit on your tracked list and do not spend your Viral Radar allowance. We scan them weekly on our own schedule, and their reels show up on Reel Analytics like any other. View Reels → opens the same account page a tracked account opens.
To watch a discovered creator properly, add the handle with + Track New Account. It then counts as one of your tracked accounts.
Rescan and archive
- Rescan in the header opens a dialog to pick which of your follows to refresh. The caption under the button sets the limit: “Rescan covers the accounts you follow. Verified accounts refresh automatically.” Each scan counts against the daily budget.
- Each of your own accounts also has a Rescan and an Archive button. Archive removes the account from your list.
Verified and Real accounts cannot be rescanned or archived by you; they are refreshed on our schedule.
Drill into one account
Click View reels → on an account (or the handle on Reel Analytics). The account page shows:
- A tracking strip: tracking since, reels indexed, last scanned, and scan count.
- Four KPI tiles that switch the chart: Followers, Total Views, Avg Views / Reel and Avg Engagement, over 7 days, 30 days, 3 months or All time. The chart needs at least two data points, so a freshly tracked account shows “Not enough data to draw a chart yet.” until the next scan.
- The account’s reels, top views first, with the same filters, sort and ⧉ Copy Reel action as Reel Analytics.
← Reel Analytics returns to the cross-account view. A Rescan button in the header refreshes this one account.
When a scan fails
An account whose newest scan errored shows a warning on its row with the last attempt time. Click Rescan once. If it keeps failing, the account may be private, renamed or removed on the platform. Open the profile from the link on its row and check. If the profile is public and the scan still fails, write to Support@AvatarFactory.IO with the handle.
