Full Clone and Transcribe in the video wizard

Turn any Instagram, TikTok or YouTube link into your avatar's video: Transcribe keeps the words, Full Clone rebuilds the shots, both inside the video wizard.

Two ways to copy a reel

Every path below ends in the video wizard with the reel as your source. You choose how deep the copy goes:

  • Transcribe pulls the words. You get the transcript in the editor, rewrite it in your avatar’s voice, and the wizard’s producer directs the shots from the script. No credits for the transcription.
  • ✦ Full Clone · 10 cr runs a full video analysis: cuts, camera moves, movements and props, shot by shot. The Shots step then replicates the reel’s storyboard with your avatar in the same scene and camera. The 10 credits are charged when the clone starts; the render is priced separately.

Supported links: Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube. The wizard shows which platform it detected under the field. A wrong link gets “Paste a full link starting with https://” or “That link is not a supported Instagram, TikTok or YouTube video.”

If you click ⧉ Copy Reel on an AI influencer page before you have an account, the reel is held for you: finish signing up and the video wizard opens on that same reel, instead of on your home page.

For the strategy behind which reel to copy, read how to recreate viral reels with AI.

  1. Open Videos, click + New Video.
  2. The first screen has two doors. On the left one, Recreate a reel, paste the link in the field and click Recreate → (or press Enter). The right door, No link yet?, sends you to Viral Reels to find one.
  3. Pick your avatar. The wizard opens the Source URL screen and transcribes the reel on its own, showing “Fetching the reel…”, “Transcribing speech…” and the rest.
  4. When “Transcript ready” appears with the word count, click Use this transcript →.

Leaving the page while a reel is being read

The reel is saved to a draft the moment you click Recreate →, before the analysis finishes. The analysis takes 30 to 90 seconds and it keeps running on our side while you are away.

Come back to Videos and the banner at the top offers it: “You have an unsaved video draft from 5 min ago: Recreating instagram.com/reel/…”. Resume draft opens the wizard on the Source screen with your reel still in place and picks the analysis up where it is, so nothing is analyzed or charged twice. Start fresh leaves that draft under Drafts and begins a new video.

Clone from the Source step

  1. In the wizard, on the Source step, click Paste a Reel / TikTok URL.
  2. Paste the link. Click Transcribe, or ✦ Full Clone · 10 cr for the shot-by-shot copy. A clone shows “Downloading the reel…”, “Reading the cuts and camera moves…”, “Building your shot list…” and usually runs 30 to 90 seconds.
  3. A finished clone jumps to the Script step by itself with “Cloned from reel” as the source; Review the cloned script → takes you there if you went back.
  4. On the Shots step, the producer replicates the reel’s shots. Each replicated shot shows the source window it came from. Re-direct All re-plans from the reel’s analysis. If the reel’s shots are still being read when you get there, the step shows “Reading the reel’s shots” and builds the storyboard by itself as soon as they are ready, usually within a minute.

Two cases to know:

  • The reel has no speech. If the words are a background track’s lyrics, the clone says so and leaves the script empty. Write your own script; the Shots step still rebuilds the visuals.
  • The analysis fell back. If the full analysis could not complete, the screen says “Full video analysis fell back” with the reason. You are charged the completed tier only, and the shots are directed from the script instead.

A clone that fails outright says “We could not process that reel. You were not charged the clone price. Try another link.”

Who plays whom

On the Who plays whom? step, each person found in the reel gets one of your avatars. Tap a face under a person to change who plays them; picking an avatar that already plays someone else swaps the two. Choose Keep original person on anyone who is not important to the video: they stay exactly as they are in the reel, face and voice included, and only the people you give an avatar are replaced. Choose Replace with an avatar to give them their avatar back. At least one person needs an avatar.

On the Script step, Hear It plays only the lines your avatars say. A person you keep speaks in their own voice from the reel, so their lines are left out of the preview, and their words cannot be edited. The same goes for a narrator heard in the original narrator voice.

What they wear

The What do they wear? step opens on each avatar’s own clothes: the segmented control sits on [Name]‘s outfits with their newest outfit picked and the rail open, and the line under the name reads what they wear. Source outfit is one tap away and copies the clothes worn in the reel instead. Change who plays a person and the step re-picks that avatar’s own newest outfit.

An avatar with no outfit yet keeps the clothes from the reel and says so in one line under the control, with Design the first one next to it: one credit, and it saves to the avatar for every video after this one. Generate a new outfit on the rail opens the same outfit wizard the avatar’s Outfits tab uses.

Shots that show bare skin on purpose keep the skin bare in the avatar’s tone; the outfit adapts for that shot and returns afterwards.

Sound

Every Copy a reel video is generated with sound. On the Script step, the line under the reel says what the original sounds like:

  • Words and timing from the reel: someone talks in the reel. Your avatar speaks the script. Music from the original is not copied.
  • Music only, nobody talks: a song’s lyrics are never turned into a script, and the song itself is not copied. Nobody speaks in your video.
  • Real sounds, nobody talks (steps, water, tools, a crowd): your video gets the same kind of sounds as the original, and no one speaks.

You can delete every line of the script. Your video is then made with nobody speaking, and the script stays on the page so you can write new lines at any time.

A line marked Voiceover is read off camera: your avatar’s voice reads it while the lips stay still. The Script step marks these lines for you. To mark another one when the script shows speaker names, put the cursor right after the line’s @Name and click the Voiceover chip. If the Script step asks Who says this? about a line, you can also answer Voiceover, nobody on camera.

To add music, open your finished video and use ✂ Edit Video.

Voices: who speaks as each voice

The Voices card on the Script step has one row per voice in the reel (Voice 1, Voice 2 and so on), each with a 3 second sample to play, its number of lines, and the person who speaks as it. Every line follows its voice: click the person on a row and pick someone else, or Off-screen narrator, and all of that voice’s lines move at once. To give a single line to someone else, change that line’s @Name in the script; that change still wins for that one line when you move its voice. A voice we could not match to anyone on screen starts as the Off-screen narrator. A reel with one voice shows a single line, 1 voice, with the speaker’s name and Change.

The off-screen narrator

Lines of the Off-screen narrator are heard off screen: nobody on camera says them, and every mouth stays still while they play. They show as @Narrator in the script. While the narrator speaks, the last row of the Voices card, Narrator’s voice, picks the voice it is heard in:

  • Keep the original narrator voice (the default): the narrator’s own lines from the reel, at the same moments. If music plays under them, the voice is lifted off the music. The words cannot be edited in this voice.
  • One of your avatars with a voice: the same lines in that avatar’s voice, with the reel’s timing. With an avatar voice you can also rewrite the narrator’s lines.

Copy from Reel Analytics or an account page

On Viral Reels, on an account’s page, and on the Source step’s From a followed account screen, every reel carries ⧉ Copy Reel (the Full Clone, 10 credits, started immediately) and a transcript action. Click either, pick your avatar, and the Source URL screen runs the matching flow with the link already filled in. The clone starts in the background as soon as you click, so part of the work is often done by the time you arrive.

Your copies collect under the Copied tab on Reel Analytics with a status of Queued, Copying, Done or Failed. A finished copy offers New Video From This and View Script; a failed one offers Retry and Cancel. Reel analytics and copied reels covers that tab.

When your avatar has no Reference Pack yet

A Copy a reel video draws each person from their avatar’s Reference Pack, the sheet of angles on the avatar’s Reference Pack tab. If a cast avatar has no pack yet, you do not need to make one first: the copy generates it and waits, and the video card and page read “Preparing the Avatar’s Reference Pack” meanwhile. When the pack is ready the copy carries on by itself. The pack costs the same credits as the one made when an avatar is saved, and you are only charged for it once. If the pack cannot be made, Rendering failed explains what to do.

Copy the same reel again

A video made from a clone shows Source Reel first in the bar under its title, with the platform, the reel length and the shot count. Click it to open the panel: Watch Original opens the reel; Copy Again reopens the wizard from the cached analysis with no second clone charge.

The Chrome extension

There is no AvatarFactory extension on the Chrome Web Store today, so there is nothing to install. If you heard about a Copy to AvatarFactory button on Instagram reels, it is not something you can add to your browser yet. This article is where we will write it down when that changes.

You do not need it to copy a reel. Open the reel on Instagram, TikTok or YouTube, copy its link from the share menu or the address bar, and paste it into any of the flows above. That is the same copy the button would have started.

If a link is refused, the wizard says “Paste a full link starting with https://” or “That link is not a supported Instagram, TikTok or YouTube video.” Open the reel in a browser first, then copy the full address and paste it again.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Transcribe and Full Clone? +
Transcribe pulls the spoken words only, saves the reel to Reel Analytics, and lets you adapt the script in the editor; it is free. Full Clone costs 10 credits and also breaks the reel into its shots, cuts, camera moves and props, so the Shots step rebuilds the same storyboard with your avatar performing it.
Why doesn't my copy of a music reel have the song? +
The song from the original is never copied, and its lyrics are not something your avatar should say, so nobody speaks in your copy. It is still generated with sound. To add music, open the finished video and use Edit Video.
Copy a reel Paste the link in the Source step and pick Transcribe or Full Clone.
