Sign-in methods, email, and password
Sign in with Google, Meta, or email and password. Reset a forgotten password, change your email, set a password on a Google account, and connect Google.
Three ways to sign in
The sign-in page offers Continue with Google, Continue with Meta, and email. With email, type your address and click Continue with email. If the account exists, the next step asks for your password. If it does not, the app walks you into creating a new account.
Use the same method each time. If you joined with Google, sign in with Google. If you joined with an email and password, use those.
Forgot your password
- On the sign-in page, enter your email and click Continue with email.
- On the password step, click Forgot Password?.
- Check your inbox for a 6-digit code and enter it. If it has not arrived in a minute, check spam, then click Resend Code.
- Choose a new password of at least 6 characters and continue. You are signed in straight away.
If the code is refused, the message is “That code did not work. Please try again.” or “That code expired. Request a new one.” Request a fresh code and enter it promptly. After several wrong attempts the app pauses you for a few minutes: “Too many attempts. Try again in a few minutes.”
Joined with Google or Meta? There is no password to reset. Use that button on the sign-in page instead.
Change your email
- Open Settings from the sidebar.
- In the Account panel, click Change Email next to your address.
- Enter the new address and request the code.
- Enter the verification code sent to the new address and confirm.
The email on your account is where sign-in codes and account alerts go, so keep it current. If your address shows a Not verified badge, click Verify Email in the banner at the top of Settings and enter the code we send. Verifying protects the account and is required before you can connect Google.
Change your password
- Open Settings.
- In the Account panel, click Change Password.
- Enter your current password, the new one, and the new one again. The new password needs at least 6 characters.
- Save. The confirmation reads “Your password has been updated.”
Accounts that joined with Google
If you signed up with Google and never set a password, the Account panel says “Your email comes from your Google account. Set a password below to manage it here.” Email and password changes are locked until a password exists.
- In the Sign-in Methods panel, next to Email & Password, click Set Password.
- Enter a password twice and save. The confirmation reads “Your password has been set. You can now sign in with email and password.”
One more rule: even with a password set, the app can only change your email or password while you are signed in with that password. If you are signed in with Google, the panel says “You are signed in with Google. Sign in with your email and password to change your email or password.” Sign out, sign back in with the email and password, and the buttons appear.
Connect Google to an email account
Adding a second sign-in method keeps you covered if you lose access to one.
- Open Settings and find Google in the Sign-in Methods panel.
- Click Connect Google, then Continue to Google.
- On Google’s screen, pick the Google account for the same email as your AvatarFactory account. A Google account with a different email cannot be linked.
Once linked, the row reads “Connected as
Locked out
If none of the above gets you in, write to Support@AvatarFactory.IO from the email on your account and tell us what you tried and the exact message you saw. For your security we change access only on requests that come from the account’s own email address.
