Make a video from a script, a reel, or a template

Before you start

You need one avatar with a voice. An avatar without a voice cannot render, so its tile in the wizard sends you to add a voice first. The Starter plan renders talking-head shots only and caps a video at 45 seconds; Creator and Influencer lift both limits.

For what comes out the other end, the script to captioned video page shows finished examples of both shot types.

Start a new video

  1. Open Videos and click + New Video. If you have no videos yet, the page shows Make first video → instead.
  2. The wizard opens on the template gallery, “What are we making today?”. Pick a template card, or click Continue with UGC Reel → in the footer for the classic talking-to-camera reel. Cards marked Creator+ need that plan or higher.
  3. On the avatar step, click the avatar you want on camera, then Continue to source →.

If an upgrade screen appears after the avatar step, your current plan does not include video rendering yet. Pick a plan to continue.

Choose where the script comes from

The Source step asks “Where does the script come from?” and offers four tiles:

  1. Ideate with AI content expert (marked Recommended). The wizard brainstorms six hooks for your avatar’s niche. Pick one, add a note in “What didn’t land?” if you want a fresh batch, then click Continue to script →. A short Writing step turns the hook into a full script before the editor opens.
  2. Paste a Reel / TikTok URL. Paste an Instagram, TikTok or YouTube link and click Transcribe, or ✦ Full Clone · 10 cr to rebuild the reel shot by shot. Then click Use this transcript → or Review the cloned script →.
  3. From a followed account. Browse recent reels from accounts you track and click Use ▾ on one. This tile is locked on Starter.
  4. Write from scratch. A blank editor.

Edit the script

The Script step shows the source card, the editor, and the Script Co-writer on the right. Under the editor you see the word count and “~N sec at your avatar’s pace”. If the estimate passes 60 seconds, a note asks you to trim before the render.

Useful controls:

  • 80/20, Rewrite everything and Get inspiration only in the co-writer propose a rewrite. Click Apply on the proposal card to use it, or ↺ Revert to get your original text back.
  • The Hear It button plays the script in your avatar’s voice before you spend any credits.
  • Change source returns to the Source step. Swap avatar → returns to the avatar grid.

Click Continue to Shots → when the script reads right.

Build the shots and render

The Shots step turns the script into a shot list. Each shot has a model, a scene and a slice of the script. The video wizard explained covers every control. For a first video, keep the producer’s cut, set Subtitles to On or Off, and check the length meter.

  1. Click Generate · N cr. The number is the credit cost of this render.
  2. Read the confirmation, “Start the render?”, which lists the shots, the total seconds, the credits used and what stays in your balance. Click Generate · N cr to start or Not yet to go back.
  3. The oven screen, “Your video is in the oven.”, confirms the render is running. Click Run in background →, Go To Videos, or + Start Your Next Video.

We email you and add an in-app notification when the video is ready. It appears on the Videos page, and the You Shipped screen offers Download.

Other ways in

  • The Templates hub lives at app.avatarfactory.io/templates. On the Video Actions tab, click Use with Your Avatar on a card and the wizard opens with that starter script and direction filled in.
  • On any finished video, ⋯ More → Generate Similar opens the wizard with the same avatar, script and shot list.
  • The wizard saves your draft as you work. Find unfinished drafts under the Drafts tab on the Videos page, or accept the resume banner the next time you open the wizard.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to write the script myself? +
No. On the Source step you can let the AI content expert brainstorm six hooks and expand the one you pick into a full script, transcribe a reel you paste, or pull a reel from an account you track. Writing from scratch is the fourth option, and every path ends in the same editor.
Can I close the browser while the video renders? +
Yes. Once you confirm the render, the work runs on our side. You can close the tab, refresh, or shut the laptop. We email you and add an in-app notification when the video is ready, and it appears on the Videos page, where you can download it.
